SNOW in Houston!
Just eleven days ago we were swimming in the Gulf of Mexico off the Galveston coast. Now the temperatures dropped to freezing and it snowed all day on December 24th. As it approached night the snow finally began to accumulate and by eleven it was deep enough to seriously play in the yard. First a round of snow foot ball was in order, then we rolled up some big snow balls. Every kid in Houston was singing Irving Berlin's line:
"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, Just like the ones I used to know"
Coming from North Dakota, I know what real snow and cold is, but this sets the record for Houston. By morning the whole panoramic scene was white. We got two to three inches accumulation, but south near Victoria, they got 13 inches!
