Hannah is Now Three

This weekend my daughter turned three years old. My family chose to celebrate the occasion by going to the Spindle-Top. It is a restaurant on the top floor of the Hyatt in downtown Houston. Of course the restaurant goes around in a circle so that you get to see the whole city! It is also a pretty fancy place and that is the main attraction for my older kids. They love to “dress up” in their best dress and shirt and slacks and go up town. Hannah was very good for a three year old. I think the “special ness” of the experience puts my kids on their best behavior. My son can be a gentleman when the setting is right. Even so, the button in the elevator remains a great temptation and sparks a competition to be the ONE to select the 30th floor.

Happy New Year

Well, I have finally gotten all of my old post loaded from my Mac. This year I continue to author my content on my Mac using Blosxom and then transfer them over to Blogger. On my own machine I can link to movies and other resources that would take too much disk space on my AOL server. Sorry, that you can not get to every link... This year I used my blog as a foundation for my Christmas letter. Actually, I did not send paper this year. Instead, I burned a CD that had both my Christmas letter and my Sea to Shining Sea blog! I was able to include those movie resources and also a slide show in Quicktime that caught the over all feel of the summers travel. We made it to thirty states and 26 state capitols. I will put up a map later.

Janz Family Reunion

At the end of the summer vacation we went to the Janz family reunion. It was held in Makoti, North Dakota. The Janz family has a proud story of bringing the whole family from Germany. Reunions are great because you get to meet extended parts of the family that you did not know even existed. The Janz family help build a community that persevered the tests of western North Dakota.
