Climbing at the Show

One thing that they did have at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was a climbing wall at the Ford area. All three kids got to climb. Elizabeth was amazing scaling all four sides of the wall. She made the top on three. Each side is progressively harder and given that you just got off the previous side, you must be also getting progressively more fatigued. She even made it over an inverted ledge. The biggest surprise was that Hannah, who is only three, also had no fear of the climbing. I guess she follows the lead of her older brother and sister. I expected that she would get part of the way up and then get scared. Nope! she just went as far as she could go and then looked around until the guys there helped her down.

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

Last weekend was the end of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Everybody in Houston goes and it is a big draw for the out of town crowd. This year was a little anti-climatic because we went on that last Saturday. I guess all the exhibitors had already left! as the barns were almost empty. Only a few mules and jackasses were left! (Sorry but this was literally true) The kids still got to see the milking demonstration and the pig races and get to go to the petting zoo. We still did have fun ... but the highlight might have been the collie dogs working a group of young cows. My recommendation, don't go on the last weekend!
