Surfing USA
John got to experience the REAL ocean while at grandpa's and grandma's. The Pacific is smooth, big, and beautiful not to mention usually refreshingly cold. This time the temp was great to do some body and board surfing. John caught some big waves as did I. During mid day the wave strength picked up and body surfing was very rewarding. To feel the power of the sea pick you up and throw you on the beach is quite a thrill. I, of course, need to test limits and swam directly out to the west past the half way mark on the pier. I guess the life guards did not like that... hay loosen up will you, I was not planning to drown. By the way, when you deep dive out there you get down into the current of extremely COLD water that remains even in the summer. Surfs UP.
