Here is a picture of traffic that was not moving at all around 1:00 am on Friday morning. I had avoided all the traffic in Houston proper until I got just to the north of the beltway. We took this picture, exited the freeway and got on the county roads and had no traffic. Just eleven days ago we were swimming in the Gulf of Mexico off the Galveston coast. Now the temperatures dropped to freezing and it snowed all day on December 24th. As it approached night the snow finally began to accumulate and by eleven it was deep enough to seriously play in the yard. Last night at 7:04 PM Jacob Andrew was delivered at the Clear Lake Regional Medical Center. He came via C-section and weighed seven pounds and eight ounces (7 lb 8 oz) and was twenty inches long (20 in). Mom did great through the whole process! One thing that they did have at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was a climbing wall at the Ford area. All three kids got to climb. Elizabeth was amazing scaling all four sides of the wall. Last weekend was the end of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Everybody in Houston goes and it is a big draw for the out of town crowd. I was the guy who could get into all the hard to reach places and greasy the bearing and clean out the sieves. Now the Massy is too small to keep up with the newer machines. The Hartland Trail goes from Park Rapids, Minnesota to Walker, Minnesota. The trail follows the old railroad line and still has the old and beautiful trussel bridges from the railroad. The kids and I biked from Potato Lake to the trail and down to Nevis and back. On the way back we stopped for lunch at Dorset. One of the main goals I personally had while I was at Potato Lake was to go sailing every day! I am proud to say that I accomplished that goal. All the kids also enjoyed the treks around the lake. Well it was great being back in Bemidji a second time! (refer to my second post!) The bon-fires remained impressive and the time was relaxed. It was warm, and the kids hit the water, and Max leaped into the water! This dog was crazy. Even though he was a rottweiler he completely loved to dive in at the end of the dock.
